President Yoon Suk Yeol on Nov. 15 in Lima, Peru, will attend a trilateral summit with the U.S. and Japan on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit.

Leading domestic media including Yonhap News on Nov. 14 quoted the Office of the President in Seoul as saying the meeting with U.S. President Joe Biden and Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba in Peru will reaffirm their cooperation.

The talks will be the first of their kind in 15 months since that in August last year at Camp David in Catoctin Mountain Park, Maryland.

U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan told a news briefing on Nov. 13, "He (President Biden) will meet with President Yoon of South Korea and Prime Minister Ishiba of Japan to celebrate the historic cooperation between our three nations and discuss the importance of institutionalizing the progress we've made so that it carries forward through the transition."

From Nov. 14-21, President Yoon will visit Peru to attend the APEC event and later Brazil to take part in the Group of 20 Summit.
